Jennifer Coolidge’s acceptance speeches deserve an award.
The “White Lotus” star gave another glamorous speech Sunday night after winning the Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Tanya McQuoid on the hit series.
“I just want to say to all the people out there, to all the people who have lost hope: I hope this inspires you,” Coolidge said. “It’s not over until it’s over. It’s not over until you die.”
The award is the latest in a string of accolades for Coolidge, who is experiencing what some fans and critics are calling his career renaissance at age 61 after his fan-favorite performance in “White Lotus.”
On Tuesday, she won her first Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Miniseries or TV Movie. She won her first Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie in September.
During her much-discussed Golden Globes acceptance speech, Coolidge hilariously talked about the brand, offering an honest and self-deprecating assessment of her life and career.
“I just want you to know that I had such high dreams and expectations when I was young, but what happened was that they were shattered by life or whatever,” she told the Globes. “You know, I thought I was going to be the Queen of Monaco, even though someone else did.”
“Mike White,” Coolidge told the series creator, who had tears streaming down his face. “You gave me a fresh start… You changed my life in a million different ways. My neighbors talk to me. Stuff like that.”
Coolidge also thanked a number of writers and directors who, she says, kept her going for two decades in the entertainment industry with “small jobs.”
Coolidge was previously known for her roles in the ‘Legally Blonde’ and ‘American Pie’ franchises.
For Sunday night’s Critics Choice award, she faced Milly Alcock, Carol Burnett, Julia Garner, Audra McDonald and Rhea Seehorn.
