Featured in ‘Avatar’ (2009) and ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ these creatures brought even more magic to Pandora; see what they are!
It is no longer a secret among lovers of ‘Avatar’ (2009) that the inhabitants of Pandora are giants compared to the stature of humans, since both the Na’vi and the Avatars are 3 meters tall. However, in addition to them, the difference in size also extends to the other creatures that surround the landscapes of the alien planet, since those that fly through the skies, run through the forests and swim through the seas, are also huge.
In addition, new ones of these animals were presented in ‘Avatar: The Path of Water’, bringing majestic scenes to the first sequence of the plot, which arrived in theaters on December 15th. Therefore, we have listed 5 of the greatest creatures ever featured so far in the franchise.James Cameron. See right below!
Tsurak
Tsurak is featured in ‘Avatar: The Way of Water‘ as the main hunting and fighting companions of the Metkayina, the water clan.
That’s because, the creature that can reach 14.6 meters, inhabits the oceans of Pandora and uses its orange wing-shaped fins to glide over the water, even with a Na’Vi on board. For its locomotion to be possible, the Tsurak leaves its tail submerged in the water, since it acts as an engine, propelling it and guiding it forward at high speeds.
Ikran

Known as the Banshees of the Mountains, Ikrans are dragon-like creatures that can have diverse appearances, as well as reaching a wingspan of nearly fifteen feet and a body ten feet long.
These large winged lizards are also featured in ‘Avatar’, as they are used during the dangerous rite of passage of the warriors of the Neytiri clan, the Omaticaya, as these animals are used both for hunting and for locomotion.
Angtsik

Being the largest among the animals that walk on firm ground, the Angtsìk is approximately 6.5 meters high and 11 meters long, thus twice the size of an elephant here on earth. This creature, which has a hammer-shaped head, has somewhat impaired vision, but on the other hand, its hearing is sharp, as well as its sense of smell.
toruk

Considered the largest predator in the skies of Pandora, the Toruk is a flying creature that has a wingspan that can exceed 25 meters and that, due to its size, speed and menace, has a great place in Na’vi lore and culture.
That’s because this animal, which has the phrase “last shadow” as the meaning of its name, was only ridden by two inhabitants of Pandora: Neytiri’s great-great-grandfather and Jake Sully, who after the feat won the honorable title of Toruk Makto.
tulkun

And of course Pandora’s most adorable creature couldn’t be left out of this list! Known as Tulkun among the Na’vi, these whale-like creatures can grow to be 300 feet (91.4 meters) long when fully grown.
Native to the oceans, Tulkuns are intelligent and uniquely communicate with each other. Including Ian Garvin, character from Jemaine Clementmentions that they are probably more intelligent than humans, as well as being more “spiritual” and “emotional”.
