Recently, ‘Chapolin’ fans, who manage two pages dedicated to the character on the internet, found an episode considered lost from the series that was never broadcast here in Brazil or anywhere else in the world, with the exception of Mexico.
The episode, which is titled “O bandido do hospital” (“No por mucho amenazar, nos madrugan más temprano”, from 1974), was released on Instagram Chaves de Novo, which, according to the Omelete website, is a group dedicated to the creations of Roberto Bolanos.
Then, the page that released the episode information, said that the chapter that was never shown was with an Argentine fan, AlbanianConticellowho only got the episode because he recorded it, on a cassette, while he was in 1985 in Mexico.
After that, another fan of the series, who became aware of the VCR, Shamblercasperwas able to help make the recorded episode available to the administrators of the page on social networks.
The series ‘Chapolin’ was produced and broadcast by the Mexican television network Televisa, during the years 1973 and 1979. Here in Brazil, its popularity was conquered by being broadcast by the television channel SBTwhich aired episodes of ‘Chapolin’ and also of ‘Chaves’ for 36 years, until 2018.
