Hailey Bieber and Gwyneth Paltrow they may not be as self-aware as they would like to believe.
On Friday, Bieber, nee Baldwin — daughter of Stephen Baldwin, granddaughter of Alec Baldwin and wife of Justin Bieber — he celebrated his privilege waded into the Hollywood nepotism controversy in the most perfunctory way possible by wearing a cropped white t-shirt that read “Nepo Baby.”
“Nepo baby,” short for “nepotism baby,” is a popular, if condescending, term for the children of celebrities who are now famous in part because of their parents’ fame. The topic reached a boiling point in late December when New York Magazine declared 2022 “Year of the Nepo child.”

Shortly after Bieber debuted his own T-shirt, he quickly switched to a similar T-shirt, but without the slogan.

However, the paparazzi took enough photos of the “nepo baby” shirt that it still ended up on Instagram via InStyle. during the weekend. And here’s Paltrow, a woman whose Hollywood family connections are pretty well established – commented on the InStyle post on Bieber’s T-shirt.
“I might need some of these,” she wrote, confirming that the tee was at least a hit in the baby-nepo community.

Although Paltrow’s shirt and comment might seem like an irritating property on a topic that most celebrities have answered rather poorly toIt also lacks any additional nuance that might acknowledge why some find the idea of grandchildren so creepy.
Allison Williams provided a much more informed and respectful statement on the subject while speaking with Vulture last week. The “M3gan” star, whose father is former NBC reporter Brian Williams, admitted to the entertainment website that he is indeed a nephew and understood why it angered some in the general public, calling the nepotism “unfair.” While admitting that “no one works so hard to be right.”
But hey, if Paltrow gets any shirts for the nephew, hopefully she’ll send one to Jamie Lee Curtis.
