The band’s name translates to “Deadly Pill”. The team was created in Kyiv in 2016.
The British edition of The Guardian has published a list of the most promising performers in 2023. The Ukrainian hardcore punk band Death Pill has entered it.
The members of the collective were women, whose creativity and fate were divided by the Russian war. Among them are Mariana Navrotskaya, Anastasia Khomenko and Natalya Seryakova.
Artists created the Death Pill to rebel against the limited expectations of women and the environment in which they grew up. They became popular after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. And despite the fact that the war scattered the trio in three different countries and forced them to play remotely, they created new works.
In 2022, the band members recorded their debut album on the London label New Heavy Sounds. The work will be released on February 24, 2023.
Also in November, the girls presented their only Russian-language single called Scratching E*alo. The song is dedicated to the ex-boyfriend of the band’s frontwoman. All other songs on the album are in English, and one in Ukrainian.
It is known that Anastasia Khomenko and her son went to Barcelona, Spain, and Natalya Seryakova – to Adelaide, Australia. Only Marianna Navrotskaya remained in Kyiv.
“Now we have a dream team, our golden trio. We played in many Ukrainian cities … Now we have a lot of attention from Europe, America. And we appreciate it, because we can spread information about the war .. . Russia “took everything” from us “I already miss the silence because I don’t have it anymore… We were also free before the war and did stupid things and just hung out together and music in Ukraine. And now the people of Ukraine just have to live,” the women told the media.
