Ukraine has sown almost a third of the planned land

A number of regions have fully completed the sowing of crops in the spring of the early group. In general, this year the sown area will be reduced by at least 20%.

Ukraine has sown 4.39 million hectares of land, which is 30.5% of the planned for the current season, the report of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy on Friday, April 29.

Thus, the regions of Vinnitsa, Volyn, Transcarpathian, Kirovograd, Odessa, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky and Cherkasy have fully completed the sowing of spring crops of the early group: wheat, barley and oats.

Also in 2021, winter crops were sown for the 2022 harvest in a total area of ​​7.7 million hectares, including 6.5 million hectares of winter wheat, 1 million hectares of barley and 0.16 million hectares of rye.

It should be noted that despite the war, the sowing campaign began in all regions, except the Lugansk region.

According to the plan, in 2022, due to the war, the sown area will be reduced by 20.5% – from 16.92 million hectares to 13.44 million hectares.
