Over the weekend, President Dina Boluarte announced that the bonus would be increased from S$300 to S$500.
“In order for our sisters and brothers to have a good time at least this Christmas, we are going to give a Christmas bonus more than the 300 sols that have been given to them all their lives; We are going to give 500 soles as a Christmas bonus to the Peruvian population, to those who are in shape and receive their New Year’s bonus every Christmas,” the head of state said.
But who actually gets it? Extra money for parties at the end of the year?
Even though the president has indicated that the Christmas bonus will be given to the “Peruvian population” on the payroll, this amount is paid only to these civil servants and is set annually in the public sector budget.
It should be noted that, according to the INEI, government sector this is only 17.6% of the total number of employees.
Who will receive this benefit?
This exemption will apply to servants and officials in accordance with Legislative Decree No. 276, Law No. 29944 and Law No. 30512.
Also for university teachers of Law No. 30220, medical personnel specified in Law No. 1153, permanent and temporary workers, military and police personnel, and retirees of Law No. 15117.
To get your Christmas bonus staff from the public sector had to work as of November 30 of the current year, on vacation or on paid vacation.
These workers must have worked for at least three months at the same enterprise as of November 30. If this time is not available, then the amount provided is proportional to the months and days worked.
In addition, they must be registered with the Centralized Public Sector Payroll and Human Resources Data Registry (AIRHSP) computer application.
