During the first Otarol cabinet press conference, MEF head Alex Contreras announced that the Council of Ministers had agreed to develop a series of economic stimulus measures following the lockdowns reported in recent weeks.
“We call this program Punche Peru, it is a program of interventions and measures that will allow you to quickly restore regions and sectors affected by social conflict,” the minister said.
Contreras argues that despite the conflict, the economy cannot stop and said tax and support measures have been proposed for the Mipes.
In addition to tax flexibility
“From point of view Loan programs We are going to extend the reprogramming of reactive enterprises, which expires on December 31 of this year, we believe it is important to give them this space so that companies can recover,” he said.
These measures will be supplemented by the costs of maintaining and reconstructing damaged infrastructure.
“Next week we will turn on the balance economic influence that this conflict has spawned, plus a range of sectoral measures aimed at closing the gaps,” he added.
In addition to this, it is proposed to present a program for the growth and development of the Peruvian economy, “which serves as a basis for subsequent management and indicates the path that we, as a leader, consider where our economy should go.”
Contreras noted that the details of the measures discussed at the conference will be announced next Thursday.
