In the automotive market of the aggressor country of Russia, cars from only two countries are represented today – China and the Russian Federation itself. This was reported by RIA Novosti in connection with the Russian Automobile Dealers Association on Friday, December 9.
So, during the war in Ukraine, almost 80% of car brands left Russia – from 60 to 14: three of them were Russian, and the rest were Chinese.
“Today, there are only 14 brands left to work in our car market for new cars (at the beginning of 2022 – ed.). Among them, three brands are domestic. Lada, GAZ, UAZ. The rest are Chinese: Chery, Geely, Haval, Jac, Faw, Dongfeng, Changan, Exeed, Gac, Foton, Omoda.
At the same time, from the point of view of the country of production of new cars, the Russian car market by the end of 2022 will be Chinese by 78%. Today, almost all European, American and Korean brands have suspended the delivery of cars to Russia.
As you know, the French concern Renault closed its plant in Moscow. The SMM was informed that the Russian authorities may start producing Chinese vehicles under the Moskvich brand at its base.
At the end of November, the plant launched mass production of the Moskvich 3 crossover. It is a copy of the Chinese JAC JS4 car in two versions – gasoline and electric.
