In November, the electric car market decreased by 9.1% compared to October of the current year, but it is still significantly – by 65% - higher than last year.
According to the results of 11 months of 2022, registrations in Ukraine of new and used electric vehicles in January-November exceeded the same indicator of the previous year by 54.5% – up to 11,759 units. The share of new cars reached 16.4% against 13.7% last year, Interfax-Ukraine reports citing data from the Federation of the Automotive Industry of Ukraine on Thursday, December 8.

It is indicated that in November the market decreased by 9.1% compared to October of the current year – to 1422 units, but still significantly (by 65%) exceeded last year’s figure.
According to the January-November results, Volkswagen became the new leader in registrations with a market share of 20.2% and rising four positions compared to last year’s result. At the same time, brand registrations increased more than five times – up to 2375.
Last year’s leader Nissan is in second place with a 12% increase in registrations and a share of 19.7%, Tesla is in third place with 14.9%.
The fourth place, as in the previous year, belongs to Renault – 6.8%, and Honda took the fifth place with a share of 5.2%, which increased registrations by 5.5 times – up to 613.
At the same time, Chevrolet, which occupied the third place in the ranking in January-November 2021, moved to the 10th position this year with a decrease in registrations of 55% to 344 (market share 2.9% vs. 10%) .
Other brands included in the top ten (Hyundai, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi) increased their registrations.
In the structure of registrations of electric cars by year of manufacture, according to statistics, in January-November, the most registered cars were 2021 – 2440, followed by registrations of cars in 2022 – 1717, 2019 – 1318, and 2020 – 1166 cars.
Earlier it was reported that the demand for electric cars is growing in Ukraine, despite the energy crisis caused by the shelling of Russian aggressors.
Recall that for the whole of 2021, sales of electric cars in Ukraine grew by 20%, to 8,541 units, including 14.2% of registrations for new cars against 8.9% last year.
