Akhmetov commented on the fights for Azovstal

The Ukrainian military has been holding positions on the company’s territory of Mariupol for more than two months.

Businessman Rinat Akhmetov is proud that his Mariupol plant, Azovstal, has become a stronghold of resistance. He commented on the ongoing battles for the plant in an interview with the newspaper Le Temps.

“Mariupol is, is, and will be Ukrainian. Our defenders are heroes fighting for every meter of Ukrainian land. I am proud that the stronghold of resistance is located at the Azovstal plant. I believe that our military will defend the city, and civilians will be evacuated, ”the businessman said.

Akhmetov called what is happening in Mariupol the deepest tragedy for which Russia must be held accountable.

“I believe that the Russian military will be punished for all the crimes committed in Ukraine and Mariupol. Mariupol is the deepest tragedy and catastrophe that cannot be forgiven,” said the owner of Azovstal.

Earlier, Akhmetov assured that Azovstal and Ilyich Iron and Steel Works will be restored after de-occupation, the businesses will not work for Russia.
