Russian gas monopoly Gazprom has completely suspended gas supplies to Bulgargaz (Bulgaria) and PGNiG (Poland) for non -payment in rubles. This was reported by the press service of the concern on Wednesday morning, April 27.
“At the end of the business day on April 26, Gazprom Export did not receive payments for gas supplies in April from these companies Bulgargaz (Bulgaria) and PGNiG (Poland) in rubles, in accordance with the President’s order of the Russian Federation No. 172 dated March 31, 2022. Payments for gas issued from April 1 shall be made in rubles using the new details, about which the counterparts shall be notified in a timely manner. , “the statement said.
In this regard, Gazprom exports informed both companies of the suspension of gas supplies, starting on April 27 and until the payment is made in accordance with the procedure established by the order of the President of the Russian Federation.
“Bulgaria and Poland are transit states. In the case of unauthorized withdrawal of Russian gas from transit volumes to third countries, transit supplies will be reduced by this volume,” not forgotten of Gazprom to warn.
Recall that this year, Gazprom could lose almost a third of gas exports to Europe. Russia has about 40% of Europe’s gas supplies, but due to the invasion of Ukraine, EU countries are actively reducing its purchases.
