Uniper is seeking compensation for losses incurred due to short supply of gas since June this year.
Previously, the largest buyer of gas from Russia, the German energy concern Uniper, initiated arbitration proceedings against Gazprom Export at an international arbitration tribunal in Stockholm. This was reported on the company’s website on Wednesday, November 30.

Uniper is seeking compensation for losses incurred due to short supply of gas since June this year.
Uniper was forced to purchase replacement volumes at higher prices to meet its delivery obligations to customers based on previously agreed prices and volumes. This results in Uniper having to bear all replacement costs. The costs of replacing this gas are currently at least €11.6 billion and will continue to increase until the end of 2024.
Earlier, Uniper reported that on July 14, 2022, Gazprom announced that it had retroactively declared force majeure in connection with past and current gas shortages. The German side considered this statement baseless and officially rejected it.
It has also been reported that Germany will make Uniper a country. The concern has suffered huge losses due to the energy crisis in Europe caused by Russia’s war against Ukraine.
