Elon Musk tried to call some brand executives to tell them. As a result, others decided to reduce their costs to a minimum.
Most of the world’s major brands have suspended their advertising on Twitter due to the chaotic approach of the new owner of the social network, Elon Musk, to the management of the company. On Saturday, November 26, the Financial Times reported.
It noted that the companies complained about Musk’s “selective approach to controlling content” and the decision to remove advertisers.
According to the publication, after the mass layoffs on Twitter, the agencies have no contact with Musk’s company and they hardly receive messages from it. Others complained that the ad systems were not working properly.
According to an industry insider, Musk tried to call some brand executives to punish them. As a result, others have decided to cut their spending to a minimum to avoid straining their relationship with Musk.
According to Media Matters, 50 of the top 100 advertisers have suspended or announced their intention to suspend spending since Musk took over the social network. These 50 advertisers are said to account for $317 million of Twitter’s $5 billion revenue in 2021.
It was previously reported that Musk fired the Twitter developer over the tweet.
