The National Bank spoke about the work of banks during the blackout

A list of 760 duty departments in Ukraine has been determined, which will provide financial services even in conditions of long power outages.

The National Bank of Ukraine, together with systemically important banks, is implementing a plan of measures to ensure the continuity of the banking system in the event of a prolonged power outage. This was reported on the regulator’s website on Friday, November 25.

“Systemically important banks have identified a list of 760 on-duty branches located in Kyiv and in 275 settlements of 22 regions that will provide financial services to customers even in conditions of a long-term power outage ,” the report said.

These duty departments have been provided with all the necessary equipment and communication channels for continuous operation in the absence of electricity.

The National Bank emphasized that the highest readiness of the banking system for uninterrupted operation in the event of a blackout and clear communication of this readiness to citizens is a necessary prerequisite for maintaining financial stability.

“Customers need to know where they can go to get their own funds and necessary financial services, professional advice and support, warmth and communication. He will need – Points of Invincibility,” said the head of the NBU, Andriy Pyshny.

At the same time, to reduce the burden on branches, the regulator recommended that banks automatically renew payment cards and delay the re-identification of customers.

“The banking system, despite the war, continues to operate, providing payments and settlements, providing financial services to businesses and citizens,” the regulator assured.

Earlier, Ukrenergo said that the country’s energy system has passed the most difficult phase after the Russian missile attack. The transition from emergency to planned outage is expected in the coming days.
