Be careful if you have recently purchased Auchan brand ham. Starting Friday, November 18th, a very specific lot was the subject of the recall: “excellent rind ham” sold in packages of four. According to Rappel Conso, it was an error with the date on the packaging (DLC), which led to this procedure throughout France.
Specifically, the lot affected by the recall is 294306 and bears barcode 3596710480630. With DLC scheduled for November 25th, this item was sold between November 3rd and November 18th before it was pulled from the shelves.
The government website advises not to use the meat in question, to return it to its point of sale or to destroy it. With the end date set for December 25, potential consumers still have a few weeks left to get a refund for their purchase. Rappel Conso also states that this labeling issue may be the cause “biological hazard” for those who would like to eat this product.
