Moldova responds to Russia over “fixed” gas in Ukraine

Russia’s so-called “settled” gas in Ukraine is Moldova’s reserves. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Moldova Andrei Spinu on Facebook on Wednesday morning, November 23.

“Gazprom, in our usual unfriendly style, threatens us with further cuts in gas supplies. They falsely accuse Ukraine and Moldova … The volumes of gas in Ukraine referred to by Gazprom are our savings and our reserves that we store in Ukraine . It is clear, that these volumes will be paid and paid by our country,” Spinu wrote.

According to him, Moldova’s gas reserves have reached 200 million cubic meters.

“There is no need for pressure, blackmail, threats. Together we gain our energy independence,” Spinu summed up.

Recall that on November 22, Gazprom threatened to limit the transfer of gas to Europe through Ukraine. According to the Russian monopolist, gas for Moldova allegedly “settles” on Ukrainian territory.

As you know, Russia is losing gas exports to distant countries. In 10 months, the indicators fell by 42.6% – to 91.2 billion cubic meters. m – with a tendency to further decrease.
