This money is part of a large project to ensure sustainable public administration in Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers explained.
The government has made decisions that will help Ukraine receive an additional $4.5 billion in grants from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association. This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, November 18.
“These funds are part of a major project to ensure sustainable public administration in Ukraine. They will be used to pay salaries to state employees, including teachers and doctors. As well as social benefits for to people with disabilities and internally displaced people,” said Prime Minister Denys Shmihal.
According to him, in 2023 Ukraine is counting on a large package of financial assistance from the European Union in the amount of 18 billion euros and a positive decision of the US Congress to allocate 37.7 billion dollars. This is, in particular, direct budget support, early recovery, energy security and spending on other purposes.
It will be remembered that next week Ukraine expects to receive 2.5 billion euros of macro-financial assistance from the EU.
