For the third quarter of 2022, the largest amount to the state budget was paid by Google and Apple, the people’s representative claimed.
The declaration of the so-called “Google tax” has been completed for the third quarter of 2022. As a result, the state budget of Ukraine will receive about $40 million or UAH 1.5 billion, said Daniil Getmantsev, head of the Verkhovna Rada committee on finance and tax policy, on his Facebook page on Friday, August 11.
“The largest amounts were paid by Google Commerce Limited, Apple Distribution International Limited, Google Ireland Limited,” he wrote.
Hetmantsev added that only in 2022, international companies have already paid value added tax on operations for providing electronic services to individuals in the customs territory of Ukraine to the state budget of UAH 4.129 billion.
It will be remembered that on June 28, 2021, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law according to which foreign technology giants such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, Netflix and others will pay 20% VAT. Then Bankova noted that such taxation policies are becoming a common practice in foreign countries, for example, in EU countries, Australia, Belarus, Kazakhstan. The law took effect on January 1, 2022.
