Despite the closure of several businesses in Mariupol and Avdiivka, Metinvest remains one of the largest taxpayers in the country, said the CEO of the group of companies.
Metinvest Group paid almost 18 billion taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels in Ukraine during 9 months of the year. On Wednesday, November 9, the press service of the group reports.
“The largest payment is income tax. In January-September, Metinvest’s Ukrainian enterprises paid more than UAH 6 billion to the state and local budget. The second largest payment is a single social contribution of UAH 3.3 billion. It is followed by personal income tax and payment for the use of subsoil – more than UAH 3 billion of each tax was paid to the treasury of Ukraine.
Metinvest clarified that despite the Russian aggression, during 9 months of the year, the group’s enterprises increased the payment of rent for the extraction of iron ore by 40% compared to the same period last year – up to UAH 2.9 billion, and the payment for the land of 35% – up to UAH 856 mln.
Environmental tax was paid for UAH 511 million.
“Despite the closure of several businesses in Mariupol and Avdiivka, Metinvest remains one of the largest taxpayers. The closure of the Black Sea ports due to the war leads to a difficult situation in the logistics of our products GOKs in Kryvyi Rih, a decrease in the level of workload, downtime of businesses. However, we are looking for alternative ways to export the product, improve operational efficiency and help the army and the population to bring the success of Ukraine as soon as possible,” commented Metinvest CEO Yuriy Ryzhenkov on the results of the first 9 months of the year.
It was previously reported that since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Rinat Akhmetov’s Metinvest group allocated UAH 2.1 billion to support Ukraine, 1.4 billion of which to support the military as part of the Steel Front military initiative. In particular, the group’s enterprises produced 150,000 pieces of body armor for Ukrainian soldiers, donated more than 700 cars, thousands of radios and drones, as well as metal shelters and hundreds of front ovens.
In addition, Metinvest established a program to support medical institutions in the frontline zone – in Zaporozhye, Kryvyi Rih, Avdiivka, Kamensky and Pokrovsk. The total funding for this program amounted to UAH 130 million.
