Since the beginning of this year, the regulator has sold almost 22 billion dollars and about 1.8 billion euros in the interbank market.
The National Bank of Ukraine sold more than $410 million in the interbank market during the working week from October 31 to November 4. This was confirmed by data on the website of the Central Bank on Saturday, November 5.
The regulator also bought $16.30 million. The negative balance of interventions reached $393.94 million.
Thus, the NBU almost doubled the sale of foreign currency compared to last week, when it sold $214.09 million.
Since the beginning of the year, the National Bank has bought 3,179.21 million dollars and 110.97 million euros. At the same time, 21,918.31 million dollars and 1,789.11 million euros were sold. The negative balance of interventions amounted to USD 18,739.10 million and EUR 1,678.14 million.
Recall that in October the NBU allowed citizens to buy non-cash money at the rate of the regulator with placement in term deposits.
It was also reported that in September, the population’s purchase of foreign currency in banks increased one and a half times.
