In October, the National Bank of Ukraine bought $47.7 million in the interbank foreign exchange market and sold $2,079.6 million. The negative balance reached $2,031.9 million, the regulator reported on Tuesday, November 1.
The NBU significantly reduced the sale of foreign currency in the interbank market compared to September by 26.2%. It was then sold for 2 752.7 million dollars.
Since the beginning of the year, National Bank has bought $3,297.8 million and sold $23,518.4 million. The negative balance reached $20,220.6 million.
Recall that in October the NBU allowed citizens to buy non-cash money at the rate of the regulator with placement in term deposits.
It was also reported that in September, the population’s purchase of foreign currency in banks increased one and a half times.
