Vitrenko will leave Naftogaz – media

The Minister for Development of Communities and Territories, Alexei Chernyshov, may be appointed to this position, sources said.

Yuriy Vitrenko may leave the post of the head of the board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine. Economic Truth reported this in connection with talks in parliament and Naftogaz on Tuesday, November 1.

Vitrenko is said to have written a letter of resignation. The decision to resign can be made by the company’s supervisory board. But in the conditions of his absence, it can be done by the Cabinet of Ministers.

It is expected that the Minister for Development of Communities and Territories, Alexei Chernyshov, will replace Vitrenko in this post.

“In order for the government to appoint Chernyshov as the new head of the NAC, he must first be removed from the position of minister of parliament. Therefore, it is possible that instead of Vitrenko they will appoint to act for a certain time, and later Chernyshov will become a absolute head of the company,” said one of the interlocutors.

In turn, People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak told Telegram that in the near future the Verkhovna Rada will consider the “personnel issue”. He also hinted at Chernyshev’s new position.

“This is connected with the regional policy. The dismissal of Mr. Chernyshev in connection with the transfer to a new position. It seems that the Ministry of Regional Policy itself should be combined with the Ministry of Infrastructure and completely transferred to Kubrakov. Let’s see if that changes position again,” wrote Zheleznyak.

Recall that at the end of April 2021, Yuriy Vitrenko was appointed CEO of Naftogaz after the dismissal of the former head, Andrei Kobolev. A year later, the government reappointed Vitrenko to this position.
