Apple has moved its Macs, many iPads and accessories to USB-C from Lightning and other connectors.
Apple will begin releasing iPhones with USB-C chargers as required by European law. Bloomberg reported this.
At the Wall Street Journal conference, marketing chief Greg Joswiak said the company would comply with EU laws, though he didn’t say when the iPhone would get a charger to replace Lightning.
At the same time, he said that Apple and the European Union have long been at war over chargers, recalling how European authorities sometimes wanted Apple to switch to Micro-USB. However, neither Lightning – the current charging port for the iPhone – nor USB-C were invented if such a transition happened then.
Earlier it was reported that Apple presented the new iPad Pro and updated the TV 4K media player.
