At the plenary session of the Congress, the parliamentarians decided by a majority vote to approve the creation of the Multisectoral Commission, which will establish compensation mechanisms and alternatives to administration pensions for contributors and former contributors of the National Pension System (ONP).
The measure received 100 votes in favour, 1 against and 1 abstention and will focus on those contributors and former contributors who do not receive a proportional pension for failing to meet the minimum 10-year contribution.
The same working group should evaluate the inclusion of ONP members and former members in Private pension system (AFP), and estimate the total pension between spouses and partners.
Discussion
During the discussion, it was also decided not to authorize the commission to assess the possibility of issuing recognition bonus for ONP members who want to switch to AFP, as they did last year.
In the replacement text that authorizes the creation of this working group, it also authorizes the provision of special proportionate pensions.
The text will be sent to the executive branch for publication. The commission consists of representatives of the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, three representatives of the Congress of the Republic, a representative of the UNP, a representative of the SBS, a representative of contributors and former contributors.
