The Fund, together with international partners, is discussing Ukraine’s request for additional funding in conditions of war.
Ukraine asks international partners for financial assistance of 5 billion dollars per month. This was announced on Wednesday, April 20, by the head of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva.
“They have stated the figure of 5 billion a month,” she said, noting that this is unlikely to exceed the country’s needs.
The head of the IMF said that the fund is discussing Ukraine’s request to partners.
According to him, the IMF is in contact with the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance about estimates of the required funds for the next three months.
Georgieva also noted that the requested amount does not take into account Ukraine’s needs in restoring war-torn.
Recall that the IMF has already provided Ukraine with emergency financing in the amount of $ 1.4 billion, and also opened a special account that provides a safe way to further supply the country.
