Joint projects will be developed in the Carpathian region – one of the safest in the war.
Ukrgasdobycha and the Czech company MND signed a memorandum on potential cooperation in geological exploration and production of hydrocarbons in areas in Western Ukraine. This was reported on October 11 by the press service of the Ukrainian company.
“This is a promising region, the disclosure of potential resources which will help stabilize the energy situation in Ukraine and improve the energy security of Europe,” the Ukrgasdobycha.
It is noted that MND has many years of experience in hydrocarbon production in the Czech Republic, and since 2014 has been conducting exploration and production in five oil and gas fields in Ukraine.
The companies plan to combine their knowledge in the Western region to unlock the potential of unexplored areas.
“We continue to attract international partners to increase Ukrainian gas reserves, without waiting for the end of the war. Moreover, in the context of Russian energy embezzlement, this issue has become even more relevant… The Carpathian region has been the focus of our activities before, now it is one of the safest regions where we can launch new projects,” said the director of the division. Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Oleg Tolmachev.
The director of MND Group’s energy division, Yana Gamrshmidova, stressed that the Ukrainian division of MND already has successful mining projects in the Carpathian region and they are happy to support Ukraine in difficult times.
Awhile ago in Naftogaz reported that Ukrgasdobycha launched a new clamping compressor station, which will help produce more gas.
