Ukrzaliznytsia also proposes to equalize freight traffic classes and establish a tariff for the transport of empty wagons.
Ukrzaliznytsia intends to completely change the system of setting the tariff for the transportation of goods. This was stated by the chairman of the board of the company Alexander Kamyshin, the press service of UZ reports.
It is planned to cancel the collection of tariffs for the transportation of goods. So, instead of 29 base rate schemes, only one will remain. It will only take into account the distance of transportation, the mass of the cargo, the features of transportation and routing.
Instead of 15 coefficients, there will be one. And instead of 38 fees set by the collection of tariffs, there will be six. It is suggested to leave a separate fee only for special transport and security services
“For ten years, the issue of the fairness of the tariff system has been a sore topic in the relations between carriers and shippers. Now we want to simplify the existing system as much as possible and make it fair for to all market participants,” said Kamyshin.
In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia also proposes to equalize freight traffic classes and establish a single tariff for the transportation of empty wagons.
As mentioned in UZ, the current tariff setting system has been operating since 1997, and the last adjustments were made to it in 2008.
Recall that Ukrzaliznytsia said that they do not plan to raise freight rates in 2023.
Recall that Ukrzaliznytsia and Deutsche Bahn signed a memorandum of support and cooperation.
