The company managed to increase electricity production in September by 16%, which made it possible to cover the deficit in the electricity grid.
Rinat Akhmetov’s company TEC DTEK Energo increased electricity supply by 16% in September, according to the company’s website on Thursday, October 6.
Thus, the above planned work of the company made it possible to further compensate the deficit in the energy system, which arose due to the limited operation of the state building, the closure of four thermal power plants, as well as the occupied Zaporozhye NPP and the unavailability of 1 GW of renewable energy.
DTEK has prepared its thermal power plants for operation during peak load periods during autumn-winter. In particular, repairs were made to 19 power units, work continues on 4 units, and three more are planned by the end of the year. In total, DTEK plans to carry out 26 repairs this year, investing more than UAH 1.3 billion.
In this regard, despite the war, DTEK Energy’s mines maintained their coal production at last year’s level. To this end, 19 new longwalls have been put into operation since the beginning of the year. As of the beginning of September, the company has stockpiled more than 1.6 million tons of coal in its thermal power plants to weather the winter.
At the same time, DTEK also helps the state’s fuel production by supplying state-owned TPPs with 80,000 tons of fuel.
