Ukrainians began to buy new cars more often

At the same time, compared to September last year, sales of new cars decreased by almost three times.

In September, Ukrainians registered 3,400 new cars, which is 16% more than last year, according to the association Ukravtoprom.

At the same time, compared to September 2021, sales of new cars decreased by 2.8 times.

It was noted that Toyota continues to hold the leadership in the market: 673 new cars of this brand were registered in Ukraine during the month. Compared to August of this year, the demand for new Toyotas decreased by 10%, and compared to September 2021, by almost 2.3 times.

Skoda has the second result – 312 cars, which is 94% more than in August and 20% less than in September last year.

Hyundai is in third place with 265 registrations (+54% compared to August, -38% compared to September 2021).

Mitsubishi is in fourth position with 261 vehicles (+123% compared to August, -41% compared to September 2021).

BMW closed the top five with 250 registrations (+27% compared to August, -1% compared to September 2021).

The most popular car in September was Toyota RAV-4. This crossover was chosen by 305 buyers in one month.

In total, from January to September 2022, Ukrainians bought and registered 27,800 new cars, which is 63% less than in the same period last year.

It was also reported that the share of electric cars and hybrids is growing in Ukraine. Over the past eight months, the share of gasoline cars in the country’s total market structure has decreased by 5%.

Recall that in August in Ukraine, the demand for electric cars doubled. 1489 electric cars replenished the Ukrainian car fleet. The most popular electric cars are the Nissan Leaf, Volkswagen ID.4 and Volkswagen e-Golf.
