The Central Bank reinstates the ban on P2P transfers from hryvnia cards of Ukrainian banks to cards of foreign banks.

“Such changes will further change the demand of the population from foreign cash to non-cash, since transactions for the sale of non-cash money by banks are carried out at a rate closer to the official one than the cash sales, more convenient and safer,” the report said.
Also, from October 5, the NBU reinstates the ban on P2P transfers from hryvnia payment cards of Ukrainian banks to cards of foreign banks.
“After more than seven months of martial law, the role of such an instrument to support citizens abroad is diminishing, while the risks of using it to avoid restrictions on the purchase of foreign currency are increasing,” said statement.
The National Bank recalled that it allowed P2P transfers abroad from hryvnia payment cards in April in the amount of up to 100 thousand hryvnias per month, allowing Ukrainians to support their refugee loved ones. From July 21, the limit was reduced to 30 thousand hryvnia per month.
The NBU notes that Ukrainians will continue to be able to transfer funds abroad to pay for education (in the accounts of educational institutions), treatment, transportation of patients, expenses related to death, as well also for the payment of alimony.
In addition, the Central Bank allowed from October 1 to transfer funds abroad to pay for education to the account of a non-resident legal entity, which, in accordance with the authority granted by the educational institution, receives funds .
Citizens can also transfer funds between hryvnia payment cards of Ukrainian banks, regardless of the client’s country of actual residence.
It will be remembered that the NBU has set new limits on transactions with hryvnia payment cards abroad from July 21.
