Agrarians in the occupied territories reduced the sowing of spring crops and did not store the grain of the new crop in elevators.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food does not yet have facts of large-scale theft by the Russian invaders of new crop grains from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. This is what First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotsky said, Ukrinform reported on Monday, September 19.

“Such a huge fact that there is a new harvest, as happened with last year’s harvest, where 20-30 or 50 thousand tons of grain were taken directly from the elevators,” he said.
Vysotsky clarified that the ministry records several cases of harvest theft this year, but there is no information about massive theft of large amounts of grain. In his opinion, this is due to the fact that the agrarians in the occupied territories reduced the sowing of spring crops and did not store the grain of the new crop in the elevators.
The Deputy Minister also added that the sowing of winter crops has not yet started in the occupied territories.
In August, it was reported that the Russians had taken at least 650,000 tons of grain from Ukraine. The Office of the Prosecutor General has documented the criminal activities of a number of individuals involved in the illegal export of Ukrainian grain.
