Ukraine has been supplying electricity to European countries for almost three months now and is ready to increase volumes.
Ukraine is able to increase electricity exports to Europe up to 2,700 MW. On Wednesday, September 14, Prime Minister Denys Shmihal spoke about the prospects for Ukrainian energy.
“We want to expand our export opportunities to the maximum – up to 2,700 MW. Now 300 MW, but we want and can have 2,700,” he said.
Shmihal noted that Europe expects energy support from Ukraine and has a request for the supply of 1 to 4 thousand MW of electricity. But it is possible if the Zaporozhye NPP works.
“If ZNPP is not in the energy network of Ukraine, of course, we will provide ourselves. Will we have a surplus for export to Europe – this question is really unclear now,” said the prime minister.
Note that in two months Ukraine earned 3 billion Hryvnias in electricity exports to Europe.
In Ukraine itself, after the start of the war with Russia, electricity consumption dropped by 30%.
