As she prepares for her next concert, outgoing White House spokeswoman Jen Psak recalls her publicly controversial relationship with Fox News reporter Peter Duss.
In a live broadcast of the podcast “Pod Save America” on Thursday, Psaki quickly shifted the blame to his employer for Duss’s actions when asked if the reporter was really “stupid”.
“He works with a network that asks people questions that aren’t personal to anyone, including Peter Duss, but can look stupid to anyone,” he said, making viewers laugh.
“Peter Duss’s role as White House correspondent is to tell American society the truth about power,” a Fox News spokesman said after Psaki. “His questions are his, he’s a great journalist and we’re proud of his work.”
Both the opening question and Psaki’s answer are a less subtle reference to an incident in late January in which President Joe Biden was caught on a hot microphone calling Dussie a “stupid son of a bitch. . ”
The president’s emotional comment came after Dussi asked him if he thinks inflation is a “political responsibility”.
Biden later called Dussie to apologize for the statement. Psaki told a reporter in his “Pod Save America” chat on Thursday He was grateful After the president mea culpa.
Psaki, a former CNN political commentator, will step down next month to join MSNBC. A Connecticut resident will host the show on the network’s streaming platform, Peacock, and update his view on live news.
He and Dusi exchanged it several times over the course of almost a year. Last month, he recalled a reporter’s suggestion that the Biden administration was responsible for rising fuel prices in the United States.
“Peter, let me tell you the facts,” he said at that moment. “I know it might be embarrassing, but I think they’re important right now.”
