Gazprom has cut gas supplies to EU countries by almost half by 2022.
“Since the beginning of the year, the countries of the European Union have reduced the supply of Russian gas to their market by 48%, and taking into account the UK – by 49%,” the company said in telegam.
Gas reserves in the EU currently average 82%, which is higher than in previous years. At the same time, the share of Russian gas in total EU imports fell to 9%.
The previous day, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the possibility of a complete stoppage of gas supplies to the EU in the event of a price cap on Russian energy resources. The relevant EU decision could be made this week.
