Over the past week, the central bank’s net sales of foreign currency totaled just over $230 million.
In the last working week from August 29 to September 2, the National Bank of Ukraine sold $239.46 million in the interbank foreign exchange market, and also bought $8.1 million. This was confirmed by the regulator’s data on Monday, September 5.
Net cash sales were $231.36 million. At the same time, the NBU did not buy or sell the euro last week.
Since the beginning of the year, the regulator bought 3.089 billion dollars and 110.97 million euros, and sold – 16.85 billion dollars and 1.789 billion euros.
Recall that a week earlier, the National Bank sold $430 million in the interbank market. Thus, sales volumes for the week decreased almost twice.
It was also reported that in August, for the first time since the beginning of the war, Ukrainians bought more currency than they sold.
