EU countries and the UK have reduced demand for Russian gas by almost 35 billion cubic meters.

In 2022, gas demand will decrease by 40 billion cubic meters. This assessment on Wednesday, August 31, was announced by the head of Russian Gazprom, Alexei Miller.

“During eight months of this year, the demand for gas worldwide decreased by 40 billion cubic meters. Where did it happen: almost 30 billion cubic meters of gas was a decrease provided by the 27 countries of the European Union. This is a 73% reduction in global demand. And with Great Britain – 85%,” he said.

Miller also said that Gazprom produced 288.1 billion cubic meters in 8 months. m of gas, 154.7 billion cubic meters. m delivered to the domestic market, 82.2 billion cubic meters. m of gas was delivered to non-CIS countries.

Recall that Gazprom has now completely stopped gas supplies to Europe through Nord Stream 1, stopping the gas pipeline for repairs for three days.
