The net income of Ukraine’s GTS Operator last year reached UAH 51 billion, Sergei Makogon said.

At the end of 2021, GTS Operator of Ukraine reduced its net income by 0.5% (by UAH 0.1 billion) compared to 2020, to UAH 20.3 billion. This was said by the head of the company, Sergey Makogon, who specified that these are unaudited data, Interfax-Ukraine reports on Wednesday, August 31.

According to him, the net income of OGTSU last year reached UAH 51 billion against UAH 57.6 billion in 2020. The payment of taxes in 2021 increased by 25.4% compared to 2020, to UAH 15.8 billion, and in the first half of 2022 it will reach UAH 6.8 billion.

Makogon also said that out of UAH 48 billion that the operator was supposed to pay to Ukrtransgaz as compensation for lost revenue, almost UAH 40 billion was transferred to UTG’s accounts.

“Of these, UAH 30 billion were paid in 2021 and UAH 10 billion in 2022. These payments should also be considered as quasi-dividends, as they were used to financially support Naftogaz for purchases of gas. Therefore, in total, OGTSU has paid cash in the form of taxes, dividends and quasi-dividends almost UAH 75 billion since the beginning of 2020,” he said.

It should be noted that by the end of August, Ukraine had accumulated 13 billion cubic meters of gas against the government’s plan of 19 billion. In this regard, the GTS Operator announced the conditions for working in winter.
