Interestingly, most of all it is used by consumers – millennials, that is, those people who are currently from 25 to 40 years old. According to research by GlobalWendix, 6 out of 10 millennials prefer these sustainable products, But they’re not the only ones who care about the environment: 58% of Gen Zers and 55% of Gen Xers are also looking for sustainable presentations.
According to Asia Pulp & Paper (APP), an Indonesian pulp and paper company, 61% of millennials will pay an extra 10% for sustainable packaging as they are more committed to the environment.
“LThe sustainable packaging trend is focusing on sustainable solutions to reduce the amount of harmful materials impacting the planet.. The world has changed, consumers want to have a restaurant at home, takeaway food, adding a high demand for sustainability.” added Jan Lifshitz, vice president of sustainability and public relations for Asia Pulp and Paper.
For this reason, the company has improved its offer by raising awareness of the importance of sustainability and has announced the launch of a new line to the market, which should be in line with products such as compostable and certified packaging.
The company reported thatThese products are positioned primarily in the food category. where there is a large consumption of packaging for delivery, and therefore they are adapted to their new orders.
“Our new customers request sustainable options according to their needsand that they are produced using fewer resources that are harmful to the environment, or that the impact of waste is minimal,” concludes Asia Pulp and Paper’s Vice President of Sustainability and Public Affairs.
