The state will be able to manage a total of S$214,790 million for events and projects next year, according to bill state budget for 2023 proposed by the executive branch.

This budget increase comes despite the fact that, according to the State Economic Transparency Portal, the Government has not used more than 40% of the resources allocated for this 2022.

Which industries will get more budget in 2023?
The three sectors that will receive the most resources if the draft budget is approved by Congress are the sectors Education, health and sanitation.

In the 2022 budget, S$35,895 million has been allocated Education, a total of the national government and local and regional authorities, of which only 55.2% of the implementation of activities and projects has been registered so far. On the other hand, in the case of health care, it is indicated that the budget will increase to SGD 24,769 million next year. This figure is SGD 1,824 million higher than in 2022.
Over S$22,945 million was initially allocated to the Health category and 53.6% had been used by August. But only in Projects health sector, the sector has used 36% of its resources to date.
With regard to sanitation, the budget for this function is expected to increase to SGD 5,856 million next year, approximately SGD 1,578 million more than was allocated this year.
Installed this year budget of over S$4,277m, but to date only 35.7% has been used in activities and projects. State execution of sanitary projects this year has grown only to 33%.
