Since the beginning of the war, the company has launched several projects, which have allocated UAH 1.9 billion to provide the necessary military, medical facilities and Ukrainians.
During the six months of the war, Metinvest sent more than UAH 1.9 billion to help Ukraine, according to the company’s website on Wednesday, August 24.
From the beginning of the Russian invasion, the company supported the army and civilians, and its businesses continued to operate.
In particular, the company provides ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, defense industry, National Guard, National Police, Main Directorate of Intelligence and other law enforcement units. In six months, the defenders received almost 21,000 helmets and helmets from Metinvest, the company provides more than 110,000 bulletproof vests, most of which are made from certified special steel of its own production. In addition, the company began manufacturing protective mobile shelters.
Metinvest also provides defenders with tactical supplies; more than 500 drones, 1,600 thermal imagers, 27,000 hemostatic tourniquets and 500 first aid kits have been donated.
The company provided defenders with almost 500,000 liters of fuel, handed over more than 140 units of its vehicles and heavy equipment, bought 100 pickups, jeeps and minibuses, as well as 20 ambulances.
In addition, Metinvest helps Ukrainians affected by the war. In cooperation with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, the company created the Save a Life project, where more than 220,000 Ukrainians have already received help: food, hygiene products.
The project also provides support for the medical industry. The company donated medicines, consumables and equipment worth 240,000 euros to hospitals.
And together with the Akhmetov Fund, Metinvest provides the necessary medical facilities in Zaporozhye, Krivoy Rog, Kamensky, Pokrovsk and Avdiivka. The total amount of assistance to doctors under the two projects is more than UAH 130 million.
“I am sure that together we will win this war, and over time we will rebuild Ukraine stronger and more successfully,” said Metinvest CEO Yuriy Ryzhenkov.
It should be noted that since the beginning of the war, Akhmetov’s businesses, his charitable foundation and FC Shakhtar have transferred UAH 3 billion to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine and citizens affected by the war.
