Since February 24, the directions of activity of small and medium-sized enterprises have changed dramatically, analysts say.
Almost 150,000 new businesses have been registered since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This was confirmed by Opendatabot data on Wednesday, August 24.

It is indicated that 132 thousand of them are sole proprietorships and more than 14 thousand are legal entities. At the same time, the number of new business registrations is growing every month. The highest number was recorded in the first week of August – 5306 new sole proprietorships.
For comparison, in the last week before the Russian invasion, 5,231 new FOPs were registered.
“In total, since the resumption of the work of the USR and the possibility of registration of new enterprises in early April, 132,000 sole proprietors have been registered. At the moment, 1.9 million sole proprietors are working in Ukraine ,” the report said.
Analysts note that since February 24, the activities of small and medium-sized enterprises have changed dramatically. At the end of August, sole proprietorships related to retail and wholesale trade were the most registered.
In total, these KVED entrepreneurs accounted for 30% of all new FOPs opened during the six months of the active war period. KVEDs related to the IT sector have now moved from the top positions.
Also, over the past six months, more than 14 thousand legal entities have been registered. In the first places in terms of the number of registrations are companies providing social assistance, engaged in wholesale trade and activities of public organizations.
It was previously reported that in July a record number of FOPs was registered in Ukraine. In business terms, turnover increased from 82% to 88%.
