In the last month of summer, Ukraine expects at least $5 billion in aid.

Since the beginning of August, Ukraine has received less than a billion dollars in financial aid in five. This was announced on Thursday, August 18, by People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

“One of the big problems is the schedule according to which the money comes from foreign donors,” he wrote on Telegram and gave an example of the figures for August.

The Ministry of Finance expected $6 billion in aid, and then lowered its expectations to $5 billion, but as of August 18 (since August 4), only $589 million and a $350 million loan from Canada for gas purchases for Naftogaz came.

“We hope more money will come at the end of the month, but for now you see expectation VS reality. And salaries, pensions and other payments have to be made on time,” the MP said.

According to the Ministry of Finance, since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Ukraine has already received $14 billion from Western partners, and another $14-16 billion is expected by the end of the year.
