In early summer, Ukraine faced a major fuel shortage due to the destruction of oil depots.
Ukraine has overcome the fuel shortage, Deputy Minister of Economy Denis Kudin said on the air of the telethon.
“Now we can confidently say that the temporary situation with a shortage of fuel that we had at the beginning of the summer has now been overcome. There is enough fuel and diesel in the country,” he said.
According to him, due to the sufficient supply of fuel in the market, the price is decreasing. According to Kudin, they are also affected by the drop in oil prices.
The Deputy Minister expressed hope that fears of fuel price hike due to the return of excise tax will not materialize.
“We do not expect the price of fuel to increase because of the initiative,” he said.
It should be noted that yesterday the Parliament did not support the initiative of the Cabinet of Ministers to restore the excise tax on fuel.
The government proposes to partially restore the excise tax on gasoline to the level of 100 euros / 1000 liters. Before the full-scale invasion, the rates for petrol and diesel were 213.5 and 139.5 euros, respectively.
