In June, Ukrzaliznytsia increased freight rates by 70%, and promises not to increase next year.

Ukrzaliznytsia said it has no plans to raise freight rates in 2023. This was stated by a member of the company’s board Yevgeny Lyashchenko, Interfax-Ukraine wrote on Friday, August 12.

“We are not planning to increase tariffs next year. We understand that this is right, but we still need to discuss this issue in the market,” he said.

It is planned to compensate for possible losses by increasing the volume of cargo transportation.

“We see that next year will be more balanced, but everything depends on state support and investment activity,” added Lyashchenko.

He also noted that Ukrzaliznytsia does not have enough funds for the planned repair and restoration of infrastructure next year.

Recall that in June Ukrzaliznytsia increased tariffs for cargo transportation by 70%.
