The largest solar power plant in Europe has been launched in Spain. It was built by Iberdrola, a renewable energy company, reports El Pais.
It is indicated that a station called Francisco Pizarro with a capacity of 590 MW was built in the southwest of Spain in the autonomous community of Extremadura. It cost the company 300 million euros.
The station is able to provide electricity to 335,000 homes and reduce carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions by 140,000 tons per year. Among the customers who will receive electricity from the new station under long-term contracts are Danone, Bayer and PepsiCo.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian invaders dismantled and removed the largest solar power plant in Ukraine. It is located near Tokmak, Zaporozhye region.
