Holidays 2022: what are left and how much should you be paid if you work these days?

The workers will have a new holiday within the next August 6 after the executive branch promulgated a law establishing that date as a non-working date, after approval by Congress.

This recent rule establishes that every August 6th will be a national holiday from this year 2022 to commemorate the Battle of Junin, which took place in 1824.

But what other non-working days are ahead? Here we show you what others holiday left for this year.

What are the holidays in 2022?

According to the platform of the Peruvian state, these are all the holidays set for 2022:

• Saturday, January 01: New Year
• Thursday, April 14: Maundy Thursday
  
• Friday 15 April: Good Friday
• Sunday 01 May: Labor Day
• Wednesday 29 June: Day of Saints Peter and Paul
• Thursday 28 July: National holidays
• Friday 29 July: National holidays
• Saturday 6 August: Battle of Junin
• Tuesday 30 August: Santa Rosa de Lima
• Saturday 08 October: Battle of Angamos
• Tuesday 01 november: All Saints’ Day
• Thursday 08 December: Immaculate Conception Day
• Friday 09 December: Battle of Ayacucho
• Sunday 25 December: Christmas

Of this entire list, only seven are pending review. holidaytwo of which were recently established by Congress: August 6 for the Battle of Junin and d 09December for Battle of Ayacucho.

How much should you be paid if you work on holidays?

Despite the holiday, some workers will continue to provide services during the holidays if their job requires it, as some essential services, such as drinking water, sewerage, or sewerage and electricity, do not stop.

In the event that the employer decides that his employee will work during the holiday, he must notify this in advance and make compensation worked is made on a holiday, either with a surcharge, or with a replacement for rest.

If a formal worker works on a public holiday and does not receive a subsequent break in compensation, then he should receive three times the day’s pay, one for the day worked and two additional.

• For example: your monthly salary is SGD 1200, you earn approximately SGD 40 per day. If you work during your holiday without changing that day off, you will receive two additional payments of 40 S/40 for that day, that is, in one day you will earn 120 S/120.

Please note that you are not considered to have worked on holidayif the work shift starts the day before the holiday and ends on a non-working day.

Similarly, if the employer decides to pay for work on a public holiday, the payment must be made at the same time as the payment of wages for April or the corresponding two weeks.

Non-working days

This holiday non-working days may be added to encourage domestic tourism, but in these cases no additional remuneration is provided.

Recently Government non-working days for public sector employees are decreed, seven dates in 2022, which in addition to regular holidays create a long weekend.

In accordance with the Supreme Decree No. 033-2022-PKM, it was announced non-working days Monday 2 May, Friday 24 June, Monday 29 August, Friday 7 October, Monday 31 October, Monday 26 December and Friday 30 December. Of these seven days, there are still five non-working days.

Please note that holidays and non-working days are not the same thing. Holidays are determined by law, and non-working days are established by government decree.

Those who work on non-working days do not have remuneration additional, as is the case with holidays.

Workers must agree with their employers on how it will be effective to compensate hours left for work, such as working the remaining hours on a weekend or deducting that day from wages. But without agreeing business will decide how compensation will be made.
