SIA combines about 99% of American representatives of the semiconductor industry and about 66% of chips from other countries.
Note that in the second quarter of 2025, the global income of the contracting semiconductors increased by 14.6% and reached a record of $ 41.7 billion. Part of the lion of this market was taken by the TSMC, which boosted dominance up to 70.2%, gained more than $ 30 billion.
In August, US president Donald Trump said he plans to introduce 100% of a duty to import semiconductors and microchips – except for those companies to produce or promise products directly to the states.
