In Ukraine, 17.6 GW of capacity will be prepared for the heat period. This was announced by the Minister of Energy Svetlana Grinchuk at a meeting of Anti-Crisis Energy Headquarters, the department’s press service on Friday, September 12.
“Repairing and recovery work in energy facilities continues, 17.6 GW of power will be prepared for loading during the heat. Resource reserves are accumulated, reserves of equipment are formed, and emergency exercises are carried out,” he said.
The minister also emphasized that the defense of the critical infrastructure was intensified, a shared generation developed: this year 194 it was introduced that the MW, and by the end of the year was planned even more than 380 MW. All possible situations worked to prepare the power system as much as possible for the next winter.
Grinchuk emphasized that energy companies improve the protection of critical infrastructure, and the military – defense of the sky. Ukraine also attracts international support, especially from the Energy Support Fund, UNDP, EBRR, JICA and the World Bank.
Remember that heat in Ukraine will be provided according to new policies. They should avoid monopolists’ abuses, in particular heat supply companies.
Currently, the readiness for the future heat season in Ukraine is over 80%.
