Ukraine’s agro-export grew by 12% in a month

In July, the supply of Ukrainian grain increased by 300 thousand tons and reached 1.7 million tons.

According to the results of July, the export of agricultural products from Ukraine increased by 12% and reached 3 million tons, according to the Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business association on Monday, August 1.

Thus, grain exports increased by 21% and reached 1.7 million tons (corn – 69%, wheat – 22%, barley – 9%).

Also, 597.2 thousand tons of oilseeds were exported during the month, which is 7% more than the previous month. At the same time, the same amount of vegetable oil was exported as in June – 297.1 thousand tons, of which 94% was sunflower and 6% soybean.

Thus, grain exports increased by almost 300 thousand tons in a month.

“Although there is a positive trend in exports, prices for grain crops in the domestic market continue to decline. They are under pressure from both the oversupply of the crop last year and the arrival of a new crop in a significantly lower export growth rate,” the report said.

It should be noted that Ukraine expects a sharp increase in grain exports from August thanks to the grain corridor along the Black Sea launched today.

It will be recalled that on July 22, an agreement was signed in Istanbul on the launch of a “grain corridor” from Ukraine. It started working on August 1 – the first ship with Ukrainian grain left the port of Odessa with 26,000 tons of corn for Lebanon.
